FoodPrint Privacy Policy

FoodPrint is a product operated by Christian Scott / Medienagentur dmp, Tannenweg 20, 35321 Laubach, Germany.

FoodPrint stores journal data on the user's device. It has no FoodPrint backend and does not automatically send meals, symptoms, photos, notes or food tests to DMP or to a third party.

FoodPrint does not use accounts, advertising, personal analytics, an external crash-reporting service or app-managed cloud synchronization. We do not track users or sell journal data.

FoodPrint is a self-tracking tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment or medical advice.

FoodPrint stores meals, ingredients, notes and timing entered by the user; symptoms, intensity and reaction timing; optional meal photos; food tests and marked days; links the user deliberately creates between entries; generated on-device insights; and app preferences such as the daily reminder setting.

This information is stored with SwiftData and local files inside FoodPrint's app container. DMP cannot view this journal data unless the user deliberately sends some of it, for example in a support email or user-initiated export.

Food and symptom records can reveal sensitive health-related information. FoodPrint therefore applies data minimization and does not transmit this content to DMP servers or use it for advertising, profiling or analytics.

Photo library access is used only when the user chooses to add a meal photo. FoodPrint uses Apple's system photo picker and receives only the selected image.

Camera access is used only when the user chooses to take a new meal photo. The image is processed and stored locally.

Notification permission is requested only if the user enables the optional daily reminder. The reminder is scheduled locally on the device and is not sent through a DMP push-notification server.

Permissions can be changed or revoked at any time in the iOS Settings app. FoodPrint does not create or require an account.

FoodPrint does not use CloudKit, a DMP journal database or another app-managed remote synchronization service for meals, ingredients, symptoms, notes, food tests, insights, photos or reminders.

iOS may include the local app container in a device backup according to the backup settings controlled by the user. FoodPrint does not create or access that backup and does not use it to synchronize journal data between devices.

If remote sync, analytics, crash reporting or another backend feature is introduced in the future, this policy and the App Store privacy information will be reviewed and updated before activation.

FoodPrint does not share journal data automatically. Data leaves the app only when the user creates an export and chooses a destination in Apple's system share sheet.

Structured exports contain CSV and JSON data, including entry information and photo metadata, but not the meal-photo files themselves. The chosen receiving app, service or person controls what happens to exported files after sharing.

If a user contacts support, we process the email address, message content, technical details and any information the user deliberately includes in order to answer the request. Users should not include sensitive health details, journal exports or meal photos unless necessary and they are comfortable sharing them by email.

The general DMP Privacy Policy applies to support communication and to technical data processed when this website is visited. The FoodPrint app itself does not send journal data to the website.

Journal data remains in the app container until the user edits or deletes an entry, uses 'Delete journal data' in Settings, or removes the app.

'Delete journal data' permanently removes meals, symptoms, food tests, insights, stored meal photos, temporary export or undo artifacts, and quarantined recovery copies from that device. There is no server-side FoodPrint account or server-held journal to delete.

Support emails are retained only as long as necessary to handle the request or to meet legal retention obligations.

FoodPrint is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

FoodPrint helps users keep a careful personal record and surface possible patterns. It does not diagnose conditions, recommend restrictive diets or replace professional care. Users should consult a qualified healthcare professional before changing their diet or about any symptom that concerns them.

Users in the EU/EEA have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, withdrawal of consent and complaint to a supervisory authority under the statutory conditions.

There is no server-side FoodPrint journal for DMP to access or delete. For personal data deliberately sent through support communication, requests can be sent to chrisscott.3d@gmail.com.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at the same URL with a new last-updated date.
