We do not need your photo for most questions. If an image is necessary, please use a non-sensitive sample reference.

Which devices are supported?

LightBoxx requires an iPad with iPadOS 26 or later. The app interface is in German. It provides a light surface for tracing on paper, rather than digital drawing tools.

How do I open an image?

Tap “Bild öffnen” and choose a photo. LightBoxx receives only the selected image. iPadOS may need an internet connection to load an image stored in iCloud Photos.

How do I position the reference?

Drag it with one finger. Use two fingers to resize and rotate it. “Einpassen” resets the position. “Negativ” toggles the inverted black-and-white view.

How do I unlock the workspace?

Hold the visible lock for three seconds. A short tap does not unlock it. With VoiceOver, double-tap to activate the unlock action.

Why do system gestures still work?

The lock disables app controls and moving the reference. iPadOS system gestures remain active. The in-app help explains Guided Access, where you can turn off touch and motion for additional protection.

What happens if the window changes size?

If the workspace changes size while locked, LightBoxx pauses tracing mode. Reposition the reference and lock it again.

Are my image and brightness saved?

The reference stays in memory only for the current session. LightBoxx does not save projects. Your previous screen brightness is restored when you leave the app.

Is there an account or subscription?

LightBoxx is planned as a one-time app purchase. There is no account, advertising, subscription or in-app purchase. The app is not yet publicly available on the App Store.
